Good Things Come in Small Packages
My kids have always been kinda on the little side. For some reason, I always figured we would have these gigantic kids, since Marshall and I are both so tall. Not so-in fact, I took Allie in for her 9 month checkup on Tuesday (she is actually 9.5 months if you really want to be technical) and this is what we came up with. Her weight is 14 pounds, 5 ounces. So that puts her in the 0% percentile. Yep, my poor baby has officially fallen off the charts! SAD. Height-wise, she's a bit above average, in the 70th percentile, and head-wise, 95th percentile (Drew is the same way-what's up with my kids with the gargantuan craniums? Extra large brains, I suppose...he he!) I always knew she was on the small side, but I figured since I weaned her 6 weeks ago maybe she would gain some weight on formula. She didn't. Neither the Dr. nor I am concerned, she said it is most likely just genetics. Otherwise, she is developing perfectly, and is as strong and healthy as can be. She will most likely just always be tall and thin. But the thing that I couldn't believe is that I have a friend who has a 2 month old baby that only weighs 1 ounce less than Allie. (Well, that was 3 days ago, so I am sure he probably outweighs her by now.) So they are 7 months apart and weigh almost exactly the same. Can you believe that? So funny. Guess I have yet another kid who will be getting a spoonful of butter with every meal and cream added to her milk. And cheese on everything. (Drew had a different pediatrician that made us take him to a dietitian when he was a toddler, since he had the same problem- we have learned some little tricks along the way to slip in some extra fat and calories.) She does like to eat quite a bit, she just stays skinny no matter what. Now that I think of it, I suppose this is not such a bad thing after all-this trick will surely come in handy someday! We love our tiny girl.

I think she's perfect. She's very cute, and if she's healthy - no worries. She's easier to carry around! How big will my kid be at 9.5 months? ;)
How I wish I had that problem...no such luck though. Mind you look at her mother...miss junk food and is as skinny as ever! :o)
Can't wait to see all of you guys in a few weeks!!!
That's how Ethan is: I think his head measures in the 95th percentile. So sad but didn't have much of a chance with Todd for a dad.
She is super cute and I am sure later in life she will be thankful for the skinny and tall gene that you passed on.
she is super cute! CJ is the same size as Claire Thatcher (who is almost a year older)!
My nephew is 2 months old, and is 12.8 lbs. He is quite the chunk. Saw her last night, and I think she is beautiful! I have a house full of little noodle babies. Its all good!
No kidding... who wouldn't love to be tall and skinny?! ... and oh so cute!
she is gorgeous and doesn't look too skinny at all!
